Who or What am I?
Hi, my name is Clifford Booth, "Kip" to friends and relatives. Originally from the hills of Eastern Kentucky, Lynn and I, with two daughters in tow, later moved to Florida. We both enjoyed rewarding careers and raised a family. All right, Lynn did the raising. I provided moral support. Though losing our oldest, Tiffany, was heartbreaking, we cherish her daughter Nora, who lives in Orlando. We moved to St. Petersburg in 2018, just a short distance from our daughter Shannon's family. Lynn passed away in 2021 after a long illness.
I don't venture too far from home. You might catch me on a walk through the neighborhood or erratically riding a bike to the St. Pete Pier. Favorite hangouts include El Caps, a local sports bar that makes a killer cheeseburger or on the tennis court attempting to play doubles. Comfy in the kitchen and well known for making a mean batch of guac. Unhealthy snacks provider, pseudo sage, and gratis Uber driver for grandkids Ava and Artie.
I'm a blogger? Sounds a bit nefarious. "Yeah, I saw him run out of the bushes. I'll bet he's a blogger."
Though I cover a variety of topics, you may notice an emphasis on life's absurdities and, well, society in general. My own experiences thrown in just to mix it up a bit. Viewpoints from a "nonintellectual" may be an apt description.
By the way, that's not my boat.
